Just a thought after I purchased issue #40
Are we going to get a special collectors edition of all the TPB (all issues) in one book??
I've have all the single issues, plus some exclusives of course. I've also tired to get all the Trade Paper Backs too. But it makes more sense to just buy one book. They have this one called Tales, but it just collect Tales of the Slayer.
Does anyone have any info on this??
They'll be collecting the books in some hardcover editions in the future. The latest we've heard on this came from our latest Q&A session with Scott Allie:
19. Emmie: I have to say, the hardcover collection of "Tales of the Slayer" is a gorgeous book and, of course, it's made me eager to own a hardcover deluxe edition of Season 8. Any movement on this front? When might we expect the hardcover release? Any hint of the specials to be included?
Scott: Movement, yes, schedule and teasers, no. They're still a ways off. But they will generally be in the mold of Tales.

Hope nobody minds me resurrecting such an old thread, but i was wondering if anyone heard any more about the Collecters Editions for Season 8!?
I was hoping they're ay lest announce them before season 9 came out!
Yeah I'm really hoping that we'll get some word on this. I own all of the TPBs but I would love to have one big hardcover that had the entire Season 8 in it.
Scott Allie has said that it won't be one volume. Either two or (more likely) four hardcover volumes.
Four makes sense... Hopefully in a similar design to the recently released 'Tales' book.
I'd love to see Fray released in this format as well!

Buffy Season 8 HCs confirmed - The main artist of Buffy, Georges Jeanty, is a customer at my store and confirmed to me yesterday that Dark Horse will be publishing Season 8 in 4 oversized HCs (approx. 10 issues each). The size will be the same as the big Buffy Tales HC released last year. - source

Hope Georges won't get in trouble for talking out of school... Scott was unwilling to comment on the hardcovers even in the current Q&A. I have a feeling this was the big announcement he mentioned that they have coming up.
Probably won't really matter in the long run at all... it'll still get more buzz when Allie officially announces it, whenever he does.

Awh they're doing it in separate hardcovers? I was hoping for one big Hardcover with all of it.I doubt I'll get them then if they're separate volumes since the appeal was that I'd have them all in one book. I already have the separate TPBs
I was hoping for 20 in each, plus one shots and maye even extras. If there are no extras in these, I'm not sure I'll bother with these for a while, not until they're very cheap.

I'm guessing they ARE being released!
that's what I'm hoping, Season Eight Volumes 1 & 2 in HC with some extras. galleries with Jo Chen's artwork <3

A person over at whedonesque wondered why so many pages, if we're only getting the first ten issues. I personally hope those extra pages are extras.

It's about right... 23 pages for 10 issues = 230 pages, plus a cover gallery of all the alternate covers, plus sketches and maybe interviews and commentary... think of these like deluxe edition DVD's where there's a ton of extra material.
There has to be, to get me to shell out 30 bucks for comics I've already paid for twice.
Can't wait to see the cover art.
